These rare casks, precious legacies bequeathed by our ancestors, bear the name Ancestral. They're bottled as naturally as possible : straight from the cask, with no added sugar or colouring.
Description
Tasting notes :
Colour : amber with golden highlights.
Nose : notes of ripe fruit, at times candied, dominated by orange, fig and quince, accompanied by hints of refined leather and old Port.
Palate : the fruit develops gradually, with a lingering dried apricot flavour. The wood, perfectly integrated, brings roundness and depth, whilst a savoury rancio enriches the whole. The balance is light and subtle.
Finish : long and harmonious.
Ageing : over 50 years in old French oak cask.
