Description

Comprising a select blend of eaux-de-vie made from majority Ugni-Blanc grapes harvested across several crus, the Maxime Trijol VS Cognac has been aged in fine Limousin oak for a minimum of two years. To fully develop its bouquet and complexity, the wine is kept on the lees right up until distillation - in the traditional style. The House of Maxime Trijol craft their Cognac from a blend of different years, always aiming to age their eaux-de-vie for much longer than the minimum required by the regulation. The result is a vibrant, balanced Cognac, offering up a bright selection of fruity and floral notes - we’d say this is possibly the most summery Cognac you'll ever try.

The Trijol family first settled as winegrowers in the town of St-Martial-Sur-Né, in the heart of the Cognac region, and their history as distillers date back to 1859 when the family installed their first copper still. Initially focused on small-scale production, it wasn’t until 1962 that then-owner Maxime Trijol was recognized as a professional distiller. His son Jean-Jacques took over ten years later as the sixth generation to run the company; he's still in charge today, helped by his two daughters Pauline and Anne-Sophie.

This independent family firm has gone from strength to strength over the last 150 years - with twenty-two 2,500-liter charentais pot stills, they are one of the largest distillers of Cognac today. In recent times the House of Maxime Trijol has concentrated on expanding their own range of Cognac, building a worldwide reputation for quality and exquisite taste.

Eye : Sunset orange.

Nose : Bursting with intense, fruity, floral aromas, reminiscent of the flowering vines in June. The light character slowly develops into deeper notes of butterscotch and spice.

Palate : Rounded, with a prominent nuttiness and elegant, warm spices, leading to a finish marked with flavors of butter and pastries.

The producer recommends that this delicate blend should be enjoyed neat at 20 to 25°C. However, its balanced and light profile also makes it the ideal companion for cocktails and long drinks.
