In the 19th century, when the modern
art of bartending was born, Cognac
was the spirit of choice for mixing
cocktails.
With this Cognac, we've tried to
recreate the type of Cognac that
pioneering bartenders such as Jerry
Thomas, Harry Johnson, and Leo Engel
would have used to mix their Mint
Julep, Brandy Crusta, and other
punch cocktails.
Inspired by an incredibly rare bottle
of Pinet Castillon & C° Cognac from
1840, this Cognac is blended using
19th-century techniques to create
a rich, concentrated Cognac that's
particularly well-suited to
cocktails, in true 1840s style.
