Tasting notes :
Colour : Bright pale bronze.
Nose : A refined, delicate bouquet, marked by a very pure rancio with hints of walnut and hazelnut. Subtle hints of white flowers blend harmoniously with fresh almond. The finish reveals hints of orange peel, underpinned by finely-aged tannins.
Palate : Elegant attack with aromas of English toffee and chocolate. Full-bodied and powerful, with remarkable complexity and precision.
Finish : The long finish is sublimated by tannins of great finesse.
A superb example of a complex Borderies from a great vintage.
Ageing : Harvested and distilled in 1975, aged in French oak barrel until bottling in February 2025.
Grape variety : 100 % Ugni blanc.
Terroir : Clayey-limestone and clayey-siliceous soils.
Natural cask strength : 43,3 % ABV.
Vintage : After a mild winter, mid-January saw record-breaking temperatures for the season. In mid-March, the trend snow and cold spells. There are warm spells in spring followed by frosts in early June. After a hot, dry summer, the harvest took place in an uncertain September, when the grapes ripened beautifully.
