Tasting notes :
1968 Petite Champagne Vintage Cognac, 49 % ABV.
1978 Grande Champagne Vintage Cognac, 52 % ABV.
1988 Grande Champagne Vintage Cognac, 48 % ABV.
Colour : brown gold with pale gold highlights.
Nose : refined and complex with scents of ebony, Lebanese cedar, then hazelnut, orange and English toffee. A hint of liquorice can also be detected.
Palate : typical Grande Champagne power, rich, dominated by dried fruits, already detected on the nose (almond, walnut).
Finish : very good length and persistence on the palate.
This Cognac has been aged in a special way : first aged in a very humid cellar, in new French oak barrels (for 15 years), then aged in old casks, in a drier cellar to preserve the character of Grande Champagne.
