Tasting notes :
Colour : brown gold with orange highlights.
Nose : the first nose is atypical, with notes of mentholated liquorice and tobacco, opening up to notes of candied yellow fruit (vine peach, apricot). These are mingled with hints of almond and prune. A hint of sweetness, vanilla and richness on the finish superbly rounds off the whole.
Palate : the attack is round and balanced. The same sweet and fresh notes are found here, with aromas of prune and liquorice, enhanced by hints of spice and vanilla.
Finish : long with notes of rancio, candied fruit and a subtle hint of smoked wood.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Terroir : clay-limestone soil.
Harvest : 1996.
Ageing : in French oak barrel.
