Vintage 2003 Cognac, natural cask strength, reserve of François Giboin, independent winegrower, comes from a single cask.
Cru : Borderies.
Terroir : The Hermitage vineyards covers 13 hectares, with 12 hectares of Ugni blanc grape variety, destined for Cognac, and 1 hectare of Merlot grape variety for making Pineau des Charentes. The vineyards is currently being restructured, with new plantings and the renewal of existing plots, the oldest of which dates back to 1964.
A layer of limestone, at a depth of 2 meters at L'Hermitage, forms the backbone of our soils.
L'Hermitage is largely dominated by a thick clay layer on a gypsum subsoil.
Average yields : The vines have difficulty penetrating the very compact clay.
This happy mixture gives our eaux-de-vie their distinctive floral notes !
