Lebecq vignobles

Rare Cognac. by nature and tradition.

For four centuries, our family has cultivated the land and thevines mainly of Grande Champagne.

The vineyards, now in the hands of Alain and Charles, covers around fifty hectares, mainly Ugni blanc, but also Folle blanche for the production of Cognac and white Pineau des Charentes and 2 hectares of merlot and cabernet franc for the production of our wine and red Pineau.

All  the vines are managed using sustainable agriculture : our vines only receive very limited doses of treatment products and fertilizers depending on the pressure of cryptogamic diseases.

The  white wines obtained, stored without preservatives on their lees, are entirely distilled by us in old 16 hectoliters stills using the “à repasse” method.

The   eaux-de-vie resulting from this traditional distillation are patiently aged in our cellars in Bernac and Lachaise : after a systematic stay of 12 to 18 months in new French oak barrels, they're placed for the end of their ageing in old barrels.

The  Pineau des Charentes from the Petite Champagne vineyards in Lachaise are placed in oak barrels for at least 5 years before blending and marketing.

W e use 7 different coopers, selected over the years, to bring complexity and quality to all our production. The 350 or 300 liters barrels for Cognac are made from Limousin oak (coarse-grained wood).

The wine barrels are made from fine-grained wood (Allier type) and medium-grained wood from central France.
