Cognac René Rivière
René Rivière Heritage Cognac comes from the Borderies vineyard located north of Cognac, the smallest in size and the most intimate of the five vineyards of the Cognac appellation. This peaceful terroir has been home for many years to Eaux-de-Vie of different ages, the youngest of which are more than 30 years old and the oldest of which dates back to the end of the 19th century.
Heir to a family of wine growers and distillers, Jean-Jacques Vidal, a knowledgeable and passionate cellar master, shares with us the secrets and nobility of these old Cognacs, made from ancient grape varieties such as Folle blanche, Ugni blanc and especially Colombard. All these Cognacs are preserved intact in their original barrels and are only bottled at the time of shipping.
In 2002 the X.O. and Vénérable Borderie Cognacs were awarded the title of "Commended Winner" at the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.
