Tasting notes :
Appearance : natural colour.
Nose : notes of wild berries, citrus fruits, a bouquet of spring flowers, and delicate biscuits reminiscent of Reims biscuits.
Palate : rich, with aromas of dried apricot, fresh hazelnut and peanut. The attack is supple and full of finesse. One is struck by the freshness of this Cognac.
Finish : supple wood, floral with lingering notes of delicate flowers. The wood’s tannins are fresh and give way entirely to the aromas of fresh fruit. A very pleasant sensation.
Cru : Petite Champagne.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Ageing : 14 years in French oak barrel from the Limousin forest.
2011 Vintage : The year 2011 was marked by a particularly mild and dry spring and autumn in France. April and October were particularly hot, creating unusual conditions for the vineyards of Cognac. These weather conditions favoured vine growth and an early, consistent ripening cycle. With less rainfall, the vines naturally produced lower yields, making the 2011 harvest more limited and therefore rarer. On the other hand, the grapes developed beautifully concentrated and expressive aromas, giving this 2011 Petite Champagne a lively intensity and an extraordinary character. Despite the heat of that year, this vintage has retained a wonderful freshness. The resulting Cognac is beautifully balanced, offering depth, freshness and a long, elegant finish.
