Tasting notes :
Colour : Amber with mahogany highlights.
Nose : Complex, finesse with spicy notes (black pepper, slight hint of saffron) complemented by almond and hazelnut aromas and even a few floral touches (jasmine, rose).
Palate : The palate is based on structure (Grande Champagne) and finesse (Fins Bois), with aromas of tobacco leaves and a hint of rose, and oak wood, and spices (Madagascar black pepper, Indian spices). The fruit is present with notes of fig and muscatel.
Finish : Vanilla and bitter almond, with a hint of saltiness/minerality.
Braastad XXO Cognac brings together for its a specific selection from the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois.
Grape variety : 100 % Ugni blanc.
Ageing : Blend of Cognac aged between 20 and 60 years old.
Soil : Clay and limestone.
Distillation and ageing : Traditional double distillation in stills. Aged in French Limousin oak barrels for a minimum of 20 years in new barrels and then refining its ageing process in old barrels in the Braastad Cognac cellars in Jarnac.
