Tasting notes :
Colour : mahogany with coppery highlights.
Nose : remarkable concentration and intensity; aromas of the famous Charente rancio, cigar box, cedar wood, candied fruit (fig, date, prune), beeswax and nutmeg.
Palate : opulent, silky texture, infinite richness, with aromas of candied apricot, aged leather and sweet spices.
Finish : pure, with the aromas lingering for several minutes.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Cru : Grande Champagne, 1st in the Cognac AOC. Clay-limestone terroir.
Ageing : in old French oak casks.
Best enjoyed as a digestif in a tulip-shaped glass, with dark chocolate.
