This XO cognac comes from the Grande Champagne region!
Powerful and round attack.
Distilled in the traditional way, this XO has been aged exclusively in Limousin casks known as "roux", i.e. casks that have lost a large part of their tannins, in order to avoid strong extraction of the wood by the eaux-de-vie, which favours the subtle aromas, obtained slowly and gently in old casks during ageing.
XO Cognac Menard is a blend of cognacs that have aged for an average of 25 years.
Description
Tasting notes :
Colour: intense amber, coppery.
Nose: very powerful nose of cigar box, accompanied by notes of leather, orange and nuts. After shaking, softer, slightly aniseed aromas are perceived.
Palate: round but persistent attack, with smoky and leathery notes mainly in the mouth. Finally, a long finish with a hint of liquorice and spicy cinnamon and nutmeg.
Tasting suggestions: probably the most suitable quality for the "cognac-cigar" association for connoisseurs. It can also be enjoyed with a square of intense dark chocolate.
