Tasting notes :
Colour : intense amber, coppery.
Nose : very powerful nose of cigar box, accompanied by notes of leather, dried orange and nut. After shaking softer, slightly aniseed aromas are perceived.
Palate : round but persistent attack, with smoky and leathery notes mainly in the mouth.
A long finish with a hint of liquorice and spicy cinnamon and nutmeg.
Cru : Grande Champagne, 1st of the Cognac appellation. Chalky and limestone soil.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Distillation on lees.
Ageing : 25 years on old French Limousin oak barrels.
Tasting suggestions : probably the most suitable quality for the "Cognac-cigar" association for connoisseurs. It can also be enjoyed with a square of intense dark chocolate.
