Tasting notes :
Nose : straightforward, revealing notes of yellow and white fruits, apple, pear, quince, apricot, candied citrus, Darjeeling tea and a hint of minerality.
Palate : the attack is clean and full-bodied, with good volume and notes of candied fruit, white pepper, liquorice and wood.
Finish : long and clean, returning to apple and citrus before closing on flint and damp chalk.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Cru : Grande Champagne, 1st within the Cognac AOC. Limestone terroir. Owned by the Tribot family in Criteuil-la-Magdeleine, Charente.
To be savoured patiently as a digestif, with a cigar.
