Tasting notes :
Colour : deep gold with golden highlights.
Nose : precise and captivating. It displays incredible complexity. It opens with notes of mango and saffron, nectarine, grapefruit and nutmeg. It possesses an almost menthol-like freshness with subtle notes of Moroccan mint and vanilla. It develops into an impressive floral bouquet of rose and violet, with a distinct hint of boxwood. Rare spices then become more prominent.
Palate : velvety. It's dominated by summery (apricot, melon) and exotic (papaya, guava) fruit, complemented by spices and very dense herbaceous and floral notes.
Finish : very long and fresh, both fruity and spicy. Remarkable for the near absence of oaky notes.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Harvest : 1975.
Ageing : over 45 years in French oak barrel.
To be enjoyed in a tulip glass as an after-dinner drink, or with duck, chocolate dessert or cheese.
