Blending of Grande Champagne, Fins Bois and Bons Bois cognacs with distillation on lees.
Aged in a humid cellar in Boutiers St-Trojan. This is the first cognac to have gone through the limited artisanal process of the 'Rarified Cognac System'. This system consists of aging cognacs in rare wine casks, then blending these rare cask cognacs with the XO cognac batch.
Description
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Red fruits, rose and strawberry jam, orange zest, caramel and ripe dates.
Palate: Medium-bodied, quite spicy, sticky prune and date fruit with notes of creamy vanilla and hazelnut, mocha coffee and nectarines.
Finish: Long spice and caramel, rich plums, herbaceous tobacco leaf and macerated cherries.
Profile: Ripe plums and toast.
Overall, the Comandon Cognac XO Genesis is very complex with a great balance between the intrinsic influences of the mature XO and the Rare Cask Finish cognac blended to make this batch.
