Domaine de Garancille

In the late 1990's, at the height of the Cognac crisis, the Estate sought to diversify its production by planting table wine grape varieties : Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon gris were planted on the hillsides, interspersed amongst the Ugni blanc and Colombard plots.

The Domaine de Garancille is now known and recognised for the quality of its IGP Charentais wines, notably the Saute-Bergère, Coteau de Traviole ranges and its flagship cuvée, Domaine de Garancille.

Éric Billhouet, currently at the helm of the Estate, has developed the business using sustainable farming practices, focusing the range on quality wines.

His commitment to sustainable viticulture, attested by the High Environmental Value and Cognac Environmental Certification, is now evident through agroforestry projects, eco-grazing and honey production thanks to the beehives installed on the Estate.
