Tasting notes :
Colour : Tiled old pink.
Nose : Notes of red and exotic fruit : strawberry, lychee.
Followed by notes of fig, walnut and vanilla wood. Slightly oxidative, you'll notice aromas of old Cognac.
Palate : Soft, slightly syrupy, this Pineau des Charentes evolves towards notes of roses, loukoum with a great freshness. You will then discover aromas of old Cognac, coffee and walnut.
Finish : Charentais Rancio with a magnificent exotic palette, like the great Sauternes or old Port wines.
This Pineau Rosé is the result of a rigorous selection of fine musts dating from 1996 and special care taken during the maturing. This rare wine is one of the jewels in the appellation's crown.
PRODUCTION :
The result of blending fresh grape must just harvested and mutated with young Cognac. The blend is then placed in French oak barrels (old Cognac casks) to be carefully aged. This Pineau was made in 1996 and bottled in July 2024.
Ageing : 27 years.
Grape variety : Merlot.

This Pineau is best served chilled as an aperitif or as a gastronomic pairing. It's a perfect replacement for a great Sauternes or a vintage Port.

You will appreciate this Pineau with foie gras, a chocolate dessert or a blue-veined cheese. It's also a perfect partner to a cigar.
